The Boreal Caribou Protection and Recovery Plan (BCPRP) Management Zones (CARIBOU_MGMT_ZONES_PY) geographic dataset was created to support planning, engagement and management in the heard and habitat recovery of the Boreal Caribou1.

There are four (4) management zones (MGMT_ZONE) that include MGMT Type 1: Full Protection – Core, MGMT Type 2: Full Protection Forestry; Conditional Petroleum & Natural Gas – Core, MGMT Type 3: Conditional Forestry; Conditional Petroleum & Natural Gas – Core and MGMT Type 4: Conditional Development – Matrix.

The following table, extracted from Boreal Caribou Protection and Recovery Plan (2002)1, describes the intent and measures for each of the management types.
